St Kilda Shule provides the elegant and stylish environs and a warm and welcoming ministerial team to enhance your simchah, whatever the occasion – baby naming, brit milah, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, aufruff or wedding.
The Bat Mitzvah programme is an integral part of the St Kilda Shule experience and enrich the transition of our youth through their journey into Jewish adulthood. While together at times, most often the boys’ and girls’ programmes are run independently.
Social justice aspects include Tzedakah, cooking with CCare and the Holocaust-focussed Remember Me programme.
St Kilda Shule’s Bat Mitzvah programme focusses on educating Bat Mitzvah girls in fun, engaging and creative ways, because the most meaningful learning takes place when girls are engaged and stimulated. Photography (and a photography competition), cooking, debating, discussing, charity, painting, scrapbooking, ceramic, singing, Shabbat meals and excursions are just some of the many activities of this programme. Our year-long weekly Bat Mitzvah programme, led by Mrs Yael Schneier, covers many aspects of Judaism and the Jewish life-cycle in a way to make the Bat Mitzvah year meaningful. The programme culminates in the Bat Mitzvah Ceremony in our beautiful Shule surrounded by family and friends. Many girls also take the opportunity to give a D’var Torah in Shule on Shabbat.
New and lasting friendships are created.
