To engage as many people as possible in the tradition of and the inspiration behind Jewish music and textual culture

On 1 June 2020, the St Kilda Shule Cultural Enrichment Fund Ltd (ABN: 98 641 268 797) was established to promote, commission, develop, preserve and disseminate Jewish culture, including Jewish literature, language, music, performing and visual arts, design, and arts and crafts in all forms by:

  • promoting the preservation and dissemination of Jewish and cantorial music, and the study of Jewish texts; and
  • advancing and promoting Jewish cultural heritage in Australia or in other countries.

Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible

St Kilda Shule was uniquely placed to establish this fund because it is world-renowned for its cantorial and choral music dating back to 1874.

Over the years, the Shule also established a reputation for the study of ancient and cultural texts and now has a growing following of the weekly Monday night Kabbalah shiur. The fortnightly Tuesday night Talmud for Everyone series analyses millennia-old texts to discover answers to contemporary issues.
