St Kilda Shule provides a warm and inclusive environment and an engaging Rabbinical team in one of Australia’s most stunning Shule interiors to enhance your simchah.
The year-long Bat Mitzvah program, led by Tali Koth, enriches the transition of our community’s young women through their journey into Jewish adulthood.
St Kilda Shule’s Bat Mitzvah program focusses on educating Bat Mitzvah girls in fun, engaging and creative ways, because the most meaningful learning takes place when girls are engaged and stimulated.
Tali has developed an excellent reputation as a leading educator. The program culminates in the Bat Mitzvah ceremony in our beautiful Shule surrounded by family and friends. A sample of this year’s ceremony can be seen here.
Many girls also take the opportunity to give a D’var Torah in Shule from the pulpit on a Friday night or Shabbat morning.
The program includes:
- Social justice (local and overseas charities, cooking with CCare)
- Personal development (speech writing, public speaking, first aid)
- Jewish history (Holocaust-focussed Remember Me program, Jewish Museum tour)
- Chagim through art and craft, Torah calligraphy, cooking
- Many of the excursion and incursions are combined Bar/Bat Mitzvah activities
New and lasting friendships are created and cherished for years into the future.
